The West Hollywood Slam Team, established in 2023, unites award-winning poets, educators, and performers, and has been celebrated as cultural ambassadors by the Mayor of West Hollywood.

Featuring title-holding slam poets, the 2020-23 Poet Laureate of West Hollywood, and a rich literary landscape, our performance will feature excerpts from our stage show "Other Words for Family'' which showcases the art of spoken word and audience-inspired improvisations.

We explore themes of sexuality, race, gender, relationships, addiction, and chosen family, aiming to elevate intersectional LGBTQ+ narratives. Our content ranges from the humorous to the deeply emotional, intellectual, and inspirational.

Through our work, we challenge pervasive falsehoods and promote inclusion, acceptance, and understanding within the community. Please join us in celebrating diverse voices and powerful stories together.
